Landscape of Change

This is a perspective on our rapidly changing world. Think of it like a rough sketch map to help us find our way as we stumble (or run, or slide, or whatever) into the future. It's an image that is developing all the time and helps me to make sense of things. Some other people find it helpful too. More perspectives are welcome.

The initiators

Pamela McLean - and various future-oriented friends and contacts (past and present) whose actions and generous sharing of ideas have influenced my thinking.

Updated January 2013

Julliet is a Kenyan living in London. She set up a small feeding programme for children in her home village, from her own pocket, admistered by the local headmaster, and with careful monitoring. There have been fringe benefits and some local people are sufficiently impressed to put in their own money to enable it to reach more children. She wants of enable more replication and to share lessons learned from this project. She has tried to create a website, but struggles to know what part of her story to tell and how to tell it.

Another Pyramid of Peace?

Kenyan elections are scheduled for March 2013. Various people in Dadamac and Minciu Sodas remember both the violence and the conflict resolution work from last time. It would seem that if we can learn lessons from last time then it would help people to plan ahead.

The initiators:

No action group or study group has been initiated yet, but a few resources have been gatherd here, following some emails people exchanged esporessing concerns.

The backstory:

Nikki and I know each other well through collaborating on Dadamac. In 2011 we discovered a shared concern for what was happening to people who were being made redundant (and also those who were struggling to enter the world of work for the first time).

Dadamac Day

(Updated by Pamela McLean October 2013)

Dadamac Day is an annual celebration of the Dadamac Community, held in November. See below for the early approach to Dadamac Day, which was originally only connected with the Teachers Talking group. Over the years the emphasis has shifted to the wider Dadamac Commmunity meeting on the Internet, and we no longer organise a "physical location re-union celebration party" at Fantsuam. The way we mark Dadamac Day year by year reflects what is currently happening.
